October 21-23 at Arroyo Seco Campground, Los Padres National Forest
The Camping Trip is Back… And better than ever!
One of the main events organized by the Lions Dad’s Club, the annual camping trip creates a unique opportunity for parents to meet and socialize with new and former members of the Lincoln community, spend quality time with the kids away from screens, and enjoy nature. Best of all, no camping experience required!
TRIP DETAILS
WHEN
Friday, October 21 thru Sunday, October 23 — 2 nights.
- Check-in on Friday at 12pm, and Check-out on Sunday at 12pm.
WHERE
Arroyo Seco Campground, in the Los Padres National Forest.
- The same place we went to last year.
- It’s a ~2.5-hour drive without traffic — but it is well worth it, we promise!
- Consider leaving right after school to beat some of the traffic.
- We have reserved the entire campground, but spots are limited — availability is on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Campsites will be shared with 2 to 4 families, depending on attendance.
- You can indicate another family you’d like to be near and we’ll do our best, but no guarantees.
- We’ll also attempt to group families roughly by grade year.
WHO
Current, future, and past Lincoln dads and kids.
- Moms are invited, but in past years most have opted for the peace-and-quiet of a weekend away from kids & husbands (shocking, we know!).
WHAT’S INCLUDED
- Campsite for 2 nights with a picnic table on all sites
- Parking for one car per family, at the site or at the overflow parking close to the sites
- Happy Hour on Friday evening
- Dinner on Saturday night for all
- S’mores kits for all
- Glow sticks
- Group hike to the river
- Bike and or scooter riding on paved campground roadway
- Fun water games at the river
- Ninja obstacle course for the kids
- And more…
- But most importantly, a quiet weekend at home for moms! 😜
Cost / Donation:
The cost is a $150 donation per family for the weekend (2 nights).
- The donation amount is per family, not per person or per night, and includes everything listed above.
- The Lions Dad’s Club is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization incorporated in CA. Donations are tax-deductible.

- Once we share the campsite allocation, you can connect with your camping buddy and start planning for shared gear, equipment, meals, etc.

Final Considerations
- If your kid(s) would like to join but you can’t, let us know. We will do our best to find a host family.
- Can we come for just one night? YES, when you show up and how long you stay is up to you.
- How much does this once-in-a-lifetime experience cost? The cost is a $150 donation per family for the weekend (2 nights). And it is the same whether you come for one or two nights.
- How do we get there? Every family will be responsible for their own transportation to and from the campsite, but we can try and help arrange to carpool if needed.
